I need some seed help

I have a customer who wants some seed spread in the backyard. They currently have zoysia in one area and want something close to it that is "hardy" and "shade tolerant". Apparently the put some zoysia sod last year and had trouble with drought and moles...and maybe too much shade? Is there a zoysia that is shade tolerant? If not, what is my best bet?
