You know, the responses in this thread are why I hardly ever post or visit this site. When I joined in 2k it was about 100% more informative. Not everyone was professional, but they were at least "trying" to be so and as such had respect for others.

I for one, though run a successful company, have MUCH to learn as does everyone else on this board. I cannot think of a better company to learn from other then one that has achieved what Scott Brickman has. No one else on here has a tenth of their sales or way less for that matter. In fact I would venture to say no one on here has 1% of their sales with a lot of confidence.

I would relax, from the pics, I found it interesting to see they use grid iron racks. Look forward to seeing new and more pics!

I worked for Brickman for 1 year right before starting my company. I hated every second of it. It just wasn't for me. I just did not like the branch that I worked at. Thats not to say they are a bad company. For the most part they do great work and they are an enormous company. I learned a pretty good amount of info. from them in my 1 year there. I don't think that they will care about a trailer pic on lawnsite. If someone was posting secret documents that would be a problem b/c that would violate their no compete clause. If he wants to post pics, what's wrong with that? Its always cool to look at pictures of stuff on this site. If you don't like the content than don't look. If there was something wrong with it, the moderators would take it down. By the way they are in 23 states at this point. They grow by the minute.

Mexicans/hispanics make up over 50% of the horticulture/landscape industry. And they do some of the best work around for the best prices, if anything we should be learning from them, like work ethic, some of the hardest working people I've ever met.

Also, Brickmann is running strong in St. Louis. Them, along with some other big local companies are my motivation.

First of all, I understand that there is an immigration problem, however that's partly our fauly and dosen't warrent all the "hope he's legal" and "darned lowballer Mexican" comments, those kind of comments are racist and extremely offensive. I'm sure if a Hispanic came onto LS and complained about "Those darned Whiteboy landscapers keep putting me out of business" he would be flamed like crazy.

Second, all Hispanics are NOT MEXICANS. There are Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Venezualans (i prob. misspelled it), Brazilians, and some Mexicans.

Third, my comment was not directed to Carolina Cuts. I have nothing against you bro.

For the record, they run (or at least the branch in Langhorne Pa does) f450's, not 550's. I'm pretty sure thats so they can use the truck and pull the 10k trailer and be right below cdl.

I agree this country is going to hell in a hand basket but I choose to blame it on technology, its sites like this, myspace, facebook, etc,. that allow news to travel at the speed of light and have people cooped up in their rooms on their computers worrying about who doesn't like the lines they left in someones lawn today and watching porn. Mexicans jumping the border don't bother me, my family only came her from Ireland 125 years ago and we were looked at the same way many people view mexicans today.

for a school filed trip in february, we visited the branch in indy that just takes care of the various Eli Lilly company properties. The coolest part was our guide said that they we're the only branch to have atv's, since there are so many sidewalks and such to maintain. they also had a giant international with the largest v-box spreader i have ever seen. They had to rent a a deere front end loader just to fill it. I cant remember the exact numbers, but that single branch took in 3 mil a year for snow and like 2 mil for landscaping and maintenance. one single branch, with like 10 or 15 employees. I'd be happy with 1% of that.

Your guide was a not totally correct about the ATV's. I used to work at the Lakewood, NJ branch and I used an ATV a few times for spraying Round Up on curb lines. Everything sounds about right, though. I was one of the first Brickman employees to use an Exmark Navigator, though. I always thought that was pretty cool.

I had a customer give me a craftsman edger just like those last spring that he picked up at Sears. Well I used to just use an edging spade and figured what the hell, its craftsman but I'll give it a try. Since then I haven't touched the edging spade, thing works like a champ, used it around 25 times now and get compliments everytime on how nice the beds look.
