Everything looks good, man. I'm not the biggest fan of red mulch but if you do it right it looks good.

Thanks guys, they were the deciding factor on the mulch. We are on delay right now due to storms.

It looks as if the tree was planted a little high when it was originally planted. Definitely get the bark mulch and blocks away from the tree trunk. Having a lot of mulch around the tree trunks retains excess moisture which can lead to rotting of the tree and even death. If I were you I would double the size of the mulch ring being careful not to damage any major roots and making clean cuts of any broken roots before mulching again. Remember not to use more than 3 inches of mulch at max. I would also lost all of the blocks around the tree, a nice clean cut edge in my opinion would look far better.
