View Full Version : and who said the t190 cant lift???

took some shots of my t190 lifting a full pallet of pavers with no problem at all. next week i will be taking pics of it lifting allen block pallets off my truck. this is for a few of you guys that say a t190 cant lift
You want a medal because you picked up a pallet of pavers? My gawd you BC guys never quit. Show us a picture of you raising the bucket with a full load of dirt to max lift and I will throw in two medals. Personally I just called the T190 a POS in general. They have a hard enough time handling a load of material up an incline or breaking material out of a bank. I never thought to see what it could lift. Congradulations though, quite an accomplishment.:clapping:

Reason it could lift is because you are over the "dead zone" at that height, lift it from the ground up and take a series of continous pics, then we'll see.

It would lift a fully loaded 850 lbs combo bucket with a full load no problem, but all the excavator buckets I lift, like the 10 foot bucket (over 2300 lbs) it would never lift any higher than eye level with the forks on, only when I took it off the truck at that height would it lift higher than eye height.

I would like to see the t190 lift a pallet of full size wall block the 80 lbs keystones. Then ksss would give you a medal. I lifted around 4500lbs with my tl140 on to my dump, then i lifted at full height I think 4800 would be maxed out at full height.

mrsops,
I was trying to compare lifting the pallet to lifting the full bucket. I am sure the machine can lift a full bucket. It is not as fun mrsops if I have to explain it all. You see I was going to give you a medal for lifting the pavers and one for lifting the full load dirt, both are equally unimpressive. Thats what I was trying to say. I will type slower next time lol.:waving:

I have run a T190, numerous times. That's how I know so much about what they can and cant do well. I have had the unfortunate task of having to rent them (all have been low houred, direct from the BC dealer). Believe me if I had not run one, I would not say anything about them. Do I bash the T300, nope, never run one. T250 I have run, aside from typical BC issues, no real performance issues. Nothing bad to say about it. The T140, never run it, nothing to say. I have plenty of seat time in a T190. The good thing is I don't need to rent them anymore. I can crane my 440 into the holes with my 160. If it makes you feel better, I wont talk about the T190 anymore.
I typed real slow this time. Hopefully it helped. If not, raise your hand and I will know to type even slower lol.:waving:

I've had a T300 and now a CT332, and the Deere has better visibility in the front and especially the rear. On the sides you lose some with the bucket flat on the ground, but all you need to do is lift the arms a little and you're fine. It took no time to get used to. Every skid has a blind spot toward the rear corner of the machine.

To overpersonalize this machine stuff cracks me up. I still say the best machine out there is the one that is paid for.....still working and making money, more money than it is costing to own. Many factors go into that. Every machine has got its good points - even if its good point is only that it is paid off - and every one of them has a down side. I have a list a mile long on what I would change with my Gehl equipment, but it is what I have got....so here I am, not interested in sword fighting with anyone in the showers about who's is bigger and better........if it works, then let-er-rip.

I agree completly ,especially the paid for part.
I however would be pissed if I bought a T190 considering what a 31k dollar TL130 will do compared to it.
I always look at dollar vs performance rather than the color or the roc.
Why pay more for less.:nono:

couldn't't agree more ,again whatever works for you're budget and you're needs.but i want to know why you need to see you're tracks all the time?if you're bucket clears the space you go into you should already know where the tracks will be,and as dozer said just lift the boom six inches and you can see the tracks.look out the back of the bob next time , hows you're visibility.

Is that all the pavers that the T-190 can lift? If not how much can it lift?
GreenMonster
04-12-2008, 10:17 AM
well, my experience with the T190 is that it will take a full skid of wall block (say Allan Block) off a truck, but it won't put it on. Matter of fact, it will only pick up a pallet of AB far enough off the ground to move it from point A to point B on a jobsite.
To me, it's a little silly to worry about how much a CTL, or almost any skid will take off a truck. It's costs a hell of a lot more to go pick up your own material than to have it delivered with a spyder. Very seldom are we loading or unloading full pallets.
Although we're not comparing apples to apples, I much prefer our ASV SR80 in every aspect over the Bobcat. Except support -- bother dealers suk azz.
We have a T190, 335 minix, and an MT52. We've likely bought our last Bobcat.

It's costs a hell of a lot more to go pick up your own material than to have it delivered with a spyder.
It really goes much deeper than just lifting ability as lifting ability is directly related too hyd power.
The less hyd power you have the harder it is too excavate hard soil.
Bucket breakout and arm breakout are very important and the fact that the some machines in this class cannot pick up 3600 pounds off of flat ground really shows the machines lack of hyd power.
That is the position that the bucket is in when digging.Look at the TL130 with conventional lift arms has no problem lifting it.Looks like certain machines are under engineered.
This one was the major reason that I ended up in my Machine. The other machines did not have the power that mine did during heavy excavation in a side by side comparison.
Up north you may not need this power but in this Hard rocky red clay we have here you do.

it wasnt a big deal ksss check cats website soon there going to be putting everything on there :)
OK so tell us the story if it isn't a big deal. My guess if it was being released anyway in a couple a weeks, pulling it off of here would not have been a big deal. Did CAT come down on the salesman who gave you the info? Have you talked to the salesman since?

T190 tipping load is like 5000+ pounds, highly unlikely that it would bend over.
I have had a 4400 pound concrete stack block hanging off my forks with the forks above the cab and the block 12" off the ground.
T190's aren't slugs, just their loader's "dead zone".

I like reading this forum and have no dog in this fight. But can say my S185, even with the added weight of the Mclaren Nu air tires and the Pro track rubber, about 1500 pounds, cant lift or perform as well as my former JD 317 with the same wheels and tracks.
I guess the T190 is far superior lifting wise, my S185 can’t curl 3600 pounds much less lift it beyond a foot and its still tipping even with the added weight. Having a hard time believing a T190 can unload 4000 pound pallets.

same frame and everything t190 has more hp and a little bit more roc. but your all missing the point reason why the t190 will lift more is because of the distribution of the tracks and the way the machine is set up

The T190 will weigh more than the S185, like about 1200 lbs, and CTL's are rated at 35% of their tipping load so you won't be nose diving everywhere.

The only way A S185 would lift A pallet of sod that I buy is if you let it sit in the summer sun and dry out for a few days, other wise there is no chance.

The irrigation runs 24/7 in the sod fields down here.
It is always wet.
IF the sod farm sent me any thing but wet sod I would send it back, and I cover it and mist it if it won't be laid for A few hours, I don't take chances with sod it cost to much to redo

Our turf goes dormant in the winter so the sod farm really has too work hard too get the sod ready for harvest.
It just now has started turning green and is dormant by November.
One crop a season is tough for them.
One crop per season! why is that? around here I think they can get A crop every 4 weeks. you can get it starting early May into November. Is it the soil in GA?
How much is sod down there? last year around here it was 13-14 cents sq ft delivered as long as you ordered at least 5000 sq ft.

Depended on the margin. When I left I was drawing a pretty good base and 15% of gross margin plus a percentage of rentals that I generated.
We pay $.17/sf and they put 600 sf on a pallet. It's grown in the old onion fields ( muck land) unless you get the mineral sod.
I've never had any trouble lifting it even with a 773.

the only complaint I have with my t190 is it boogs down fairly easy when I plow into a pile of dirt and get a full bucket.
I have found very little I can't dig, some things just take alittle longer.
when you get those big teeth on the bucket it really changes the ability of what you can do with that chunk of steel on the front of that little machine.
