Double gator mulchers

I read a post that said they were running double gator mulchers on a Scag 36" w/b. Does this mean 2 or 4 blades? If it is 4 how would that be set up?

That would be 2 blades on each spindle crossed in an X pattern and bolted down tightly...

I think double gators would be over kill. I run a Scag High Lift under a Gator Magnum on my 36". That works fantastic for me.

we do as above we run the stock high lift under gator mag. on our danes

Best thing to do is try different blade combos for your equip. I found a high lift on bottom and gator on top works best on my encore. I run mulching kits on my eXmarks, so I can't do doubles. The blow out will kill you.
