Hello all

if you had to dig a 30' x 30' by 3 feet deep in clay. Which one would be faster. All machines would have a bucket and a Quick Spade Combo to use.

How about digging a 10' high bank using forks with a Quick Spade and a bucket.

The last time Bobcat ran this thread. Bobcat said people picked there product over everyone else by 3 out of 5.

I have Bobcat's. But I'm starting to think there is better out there now. Give me your thoughts and be honest?

I am going to take the poll number and post them on the web. Everyone wants to know.

I'd say they would all work great for that job.

So if you have to choose one which one would it be? I know if only one unit had a quick spade and the others didn't. The one with a quick spade would win hands down.

What do you perfer?

Takeuchi.:)

Would not need anything but a toothed bucket either.

Thanks

Have you ever tried a spade out yet. I have tooth buckets and they are good for some things.

Okay so I found out what the quick spade thing is, that basically looks good for digging holes for trees/shrubs only. Don't know how that would be faster than a tooth bucket digging a 30X30X3 hole. Since you threw in ASV in the comparison, let's assume track machines. I like suspended undercarriages, the ASV's are nice machines, but I'd prefer Case.

Not sure what brand you use but the ones I have seen would last about 12 seconds on my machine.
Also the forks would bend as well on the fork models.

Takeuchi TL150 would do that job in a couple hours.

Well, any of them listed would get the job done. I would choose the Deere or Case machies myself. The Deere is an animal and so is the Case machines.

I would pick a 440 Case with steel over the tire tracks if there is any sort of budget, if no limits then I would pick a 450 Case with a VTS track system.

Back when there were a lot manufactured homes being sold I dug many crawl space foundations for them. I used a 95XT with no tracks and a bucket with a Rezloh edge. Ground conditions were cobble rock with a clay loam usually. The usual dimensions were 26X54X3, some were longer but in that ball park. I could dig it to grade in 4.5 hours on average. If I used tracks I could have saved time. So if your going 30X30X3 and your giving yourself entire day, if your any kind of operator you will be going home by noon at least in a 95XT sized machine. I would pick CASE without a doubt.

If the ground is soft as it is in that quick spade video I found on the quick spade site then a bucket with teeth would dig the best.

My first choice wouldn't be a skid steer thou a excavator could do a cleaner job.

Also I don't think that Quick spade thing is good for forks it will bend them they are not design for that.

It sounds like the ground your working in is dig able with a shovel so any skid that runs could do the job.

That's for all your info. I hope we keep getting more and more. Deere, Doocat and ASV are looking forward to our info that we come up with.

Gravel rat. Just to let you know. When you have the Quick spade is on your forks. They are 5 time stronger and the combo makes them 10 times stronger. There is a chain that runs up to your main frame that would have to break first before the forks could even get close to bending at the neck. I felt the same as you the first time I saw the unit. But the dealer said if you bend the works and don't like the product. Send it back and I will replace your forks for you. So I thought why not give it a try. All I could say was amazing. O my god. I can't believe how fast this product makes the job. I couldn't believe how hard the dirt was. it mad it look so easy. I wanted to bend my forks because they were getting bad already. But that didn't happen and I stil have the spade on the same set of forks. I have a quick spade combo on my track machine to dig trenches and so on.

Thanks again for all your info so far. I will be sending this info to Doocat, Deere, Case and ASV every friday.

It's going to be 70 and windy here today. Should start drying things out so we can play in the dirt.
