does anyone own one of these stupid things?

If you do, do you have conversion rates for lesco fertilizers...

Here's a copy of the Shindaiwa spreader adjustment manual. I couldn't open the file posted above, my computer keep saying "could not parse" whatever that means. Hope this helps. - Ed

I have had three of the Shindawas - all of which have handily out lasted the Lesco walk behind units.
They push easier, calibrate close enough to use the stock gate gauge that the Lesco's use, clean up easier and are about $100.00 less.
Something to remember, Shindawas market to both the residential and professional user - don't confuse the homeowner unit with the professional use unit.

do they make a stainless variety? My biggest gripe with spreaders which are not stainless, the frame ends up rusting out well before the spreader is due for replacement.

I guess we won't be able to call it a lesco spreader any more, its going to be a john Deere spreader ;)

A local mower shop carries the Shindawa stainless model. It's definitely a high quality spreader. I can't remember the name of the company, the one that makes the "bigfoot", it looked very similar to their stainless spreader.
