I've been in the lawn and irrigation business for about four years now, but this is the first time I've had to bid on this type of work.

I need to submit a bid on transplanting 8 small oak trees. They are about 7 or 8 feet tall, with about a 3" or 4" dia. base. What do I charge for this type of work? I know it's going to be very labor intensive. Also, what measures can I take to ensure their survival? Any help would be appreciated.

i know i've always heard that you need to get atleast 3/4 of the root for the tree to survive. i think being that they are only 3 or 4 inches, that shouldnt be a problem. as far as what to charge, i havent a clue since i've never done anything like that. i'd think 50 per tree isnt unreasonable though. goodluck.
