Looks good, I like the tint. How many animal crakers per hour do you have to give for your operator? Cute picture.

Lowe your new operator!!! I would offer that you may consider buying a few more chains for tie down if that is, in fact, how you tie your machine for transport. I too like the tint on the windows and am sure that new machine will serve you well.......

I thought that was bigger than a 161 I looked it up that machine is 18,000lbs thats a good size mini.

It is a 080-3 and weighs just over 18K. I played with it this weekend and it is very stable for its size. A lot more power than a 161. I do need to shorten some of my long chains. Ideal would be four 4 foot chains with hooks and ratchet binders. This was all that was in the trailer this morning though.

The thumb should be here in the morning (hydraulic of course) and the mulch head should be ready in a few weeks. I have a few small dirt jobs for it now.

Thanks for the compliments. With the new vinyl stickers and the tint it sure turned a lot of heads in town today. looks like a diferent machine!

Good lookin' machine, I like it. Not sure how friendly the DOT man would react to that much weight behind a 1 ton truck, but if the shoe fits.

It is a sharp machine. Need to stop at the thumb and coupler store and your set.

That is a little over weight for 1 ton truck usually guys here with a mini that size have a 5 ton truck or tandem.

A thumb and quick connect should be a standard issue on all excavators.

Dirtyworks,

If you don't mind me asking the following questions??? I'll understand if you don't want to.

How well does putting your website domain on your equipment work for you?

Has it ever led to someone actually contacting you about having some work done?

Would your business suffer if you did not have the website?

That is an awesome looking machine you have there, definitely an eye catcher. Do you think that it being such an eye catcher will generate sales leads? I can just imagine people coming up to you anytime you stop with it on your trailer.

Thanks!

The weight is a little much. We have been pulling the JD 650J LGP and could definately tell she's back there. Air bags will be added this week! This truck will have to do for a few weeks till the cashflow is back in the bank. Just got to take little steps. one thing at a time. Have been thinking of a hydraulic 35 ton lowboy @ 45' with a Pete tractor. Then I would only have to make one trip. Save fuel. Right now the work has all been within a 35 mile radius from the shop.

The thumb was included, just had to wait on freight truck. It already has the quick connect! Next additios will be 24" steel tracks and a RADIO!

you pull a 650 Deere with a 1 ton????? wow..haha

a lowboy would be a good option but how economical would it be? you might be just as well with a dump and tag trailer, then atleast you can use the truck for more things then just pulling a trailer...nice equipment though, but i have to ask...why the Cat plate if you run Deere and Kubota???

Thanks!

We have had the website only since @ November and it has been a work in progress. Lots of changes. It has generated way more business than any form of advertising we have ever done. Its like a salesman that never sleeps. The domain is regestered as www.southernvegetationmanagement.com and also www.viewyourland.com View your land is a lot easier for the customer to remember when they get to a computer. Mulching is fairly new in my area (<5-6 years) and a lot of people still have never been exposed to it. Almost everone knows what a backhoe or a dozer is but a mulcher, well seeing is believing. We needed the excavator for all of the low areas. This way we can clear creek banks from a distance and with far less tracking.
The eye candy aspect is realy a bonus. And yes we have only had it a few days and have gotted quite a few calls already.
Do most of you put phone numbers on equipment?
Oh the website helps to answer some of the same questions and lessens the phone time needed to explain our services, leaving more time for productivity. Instead of all the small talk they ask " How soon can you get here?"

Also have a new 272c Cat w/mulcher that we purchased a few weeks ago to replace a burnt T300 bobcat. That along with the ASV RC-100, a Cat 257, and an old JD 450c and a few other toys. Not brand specific. The lowboy would eliminate taking two trailers and or three trips to a job. Just put up to three pieces on the lowboy and follow with a one ton support truck maby pulling the RTV. I guess it would cost about the same in the long run. But always looking for suggestions. Thanks

Nice orange paint and I also like the website. I'm with DD though on pulling the 650J with a 1 ton. Watch out for those "special" state troopers! I don't want to change the topic with that or this, but do you have any pics of the 650J? Also, have you been happy with it?
