getting it everywhere? ....since it drains out of the side of the engine instead of underneath. I get huge messes because I just haven't figured out how to keep it off the mower. There must be a trick and I am certainly a moron.

Get yourself a drain extension a few inches long to extend just past the engine platform. These are usually available at a dealer or just make one yourself out of metal pipe..

Where are you at in Illinois? I am just east of Springfield.

Hey while I got you here...my father in law uses amsoil in everything. He tells me it is the best stuff on the planet and he only has to change his oil once a year or 30k miles. Is this right?

Also do you have to have a special filter from amsoil?

I'm thinking I'm going to make the switch as I hate changing oil...for obvious reasons.

Drain extension, I will google it.

You can pick these up at any Kohler dealership, The first one can have a piece of automotive 5/8" heater hose slid on the end any length to clear the mower deck. Don't forget the proper adapter should your drain plug be metric.

Yes, very true. The Signature Series 0W-30 can go 35,000 but I usually say 25,000 because people tend to flip out when you tell them 25,000 miles alone. To do this drain interval you do have to use the Amsoil EAO oil filter which is 98.7% efficient at 15 microns. Since I assume you are a business owner here I can get you a commercial account, which costs you nothing, and you pay 20-30% less than retail prices. All I need is your business name, your name, address, phone and email. Anyone can PM me this info if interested in this. I included some info regarding some oils and the filters.
