how much oil? 17 and 23 hp

I was wondering if anyone knew off had how much oil (qts.)the following takes. I drained and changed the filter. I dont have the owners manual for one and the other is lost:hammerhead:


23 kaw. engine Tank 54
17 kaw, engine Turf tracer exmark

I have a 23hp kohler and a 16 hp kohler i dont know if they are close i think the 23 holds about 2 quarts and the 16 holds about 1 1/2 quarts id start with 1 1/2 quarts in the engine then check the dipstick and see if you need to add more.

i always thoght it was 1.75 quarts
