Lawn is very bumpy and the depressions feel slimy.

I would check for moles here, maybe grub feeding time, standing water pits?

I would agree with calcium deficiency or excess sodium, especially if clay soil. Excess sodium deflocculates the clays and will sometimes result in depressions due to losing the pore space
