Looking at a 86 Chevy K30 with a 366 (tall block) backed by a TH400 trans with 4.10 Gears running 33X12.50X16.5 rubber. This motor replaced the original 350. I am looking for any opinons concerning this truck.

Based on the info here, I'm going to hazard a guess that there will be lots of low-end "grunt", not a whole lot on the top end and fuel mileage will be in the single digits.

What are your plans for the truck? Mud toy, work truck, etc? What sort of condition is it in overall?

Doesn't sound like the most practical work truck, but if you want to do some serious wheelin.....................................

According to the owner at this time pulling a 8 Series Bobcat it gets around 9 MPG Empty it gets 11 MPG I intend to hang a 9ft blade on the front for the winter and hopefully pull a 7 series Bobcat in the summer months...as well as the trip to and from work (20 miles total per day) Test drove it today and yes it has LOTS of low end power AMAZING!!!!

Since the 366 was made for use in the bigger (3 ton & up I believe) trucks, it's built to produce power in the low & mid-ranges - definitely a TRUCK engine!

Yes, it should push some serious snow. May want to run a narrrower tire for the winter months, as long as fuel mileage isn't an issue and the truck's in good shape overall go for it!

Man. Sounds pretty good. Heck, it's better than our old 1970 Chevy pickup's engine. It's a 350 small block. It's in our welding truck, but it's got a horrible wrist-pin knock. Man, I loved that truck, but I think we are going to get rid of it.
