View Full Version : Help With My Generac Engine

I have a 32 hp generac engine on a dixie chopper. When i finally get the engine to start I can't throttle the engine up without it dieing. I've changed the spark plugs, the air filter, the fuel filter, and I even adjust the idle speed up a little. I still can't throttle it up. Any advise or suggestions would be welcome. Thanks guys.

This 2 barrel carb feeds each cylinder separately (one barrel one cylinder).
Will it throttle up if the choke is applied at the same time the throttle is ?
If it dies when throttled up I would look for something both barrels have in common, Like the float bowl. Un-plug the fuel cut-off solenoid then screw it out of the float bowl, Check for water contamination and the amount that pours out you could have a weak fuel pump. Also, You may even shoot some carb & choke cleaner in this port just to see if any trash etc. comes flowing out.
Another thing is once the fuel cut-off solenoid is removed plug it back into the harness and hold the threaded area to any metal part of the engine then switch the key on and off. You should feel/hear it click, Also make sure the plunger is retracting fully.
