Ok lets see if we can find them. Had 2 Shindaiwa t230's stolen today. Columbus,(Grandview) Ohio. Model t230's Serial numbers: sn-2111526 and sn2111534. Had my business phone number etched in the plastic case on top and on the metal pole right near the throttle control.

Any help would be appreciated.Had them in the basket on the trailer and not locked up. Got trimmer racks ordered with locks. But to reach into the basket the had to stand on the tongue of the trailer to get into the basket.

Thanks for reading,

JP

Props for knowing serial numbers and etching info on them. My stuff would never be identifiable, probably even to me.

May I recommend also engraving your name or company name in a concealed spot on the equipment for future ID. On most small equipment it only takes a few minutes to remove the manufacturer's serial number.

I recovered a stolen Stihl FS90 last summer from a local pawnshop. When I approached the pawnshop owner he was all smug about how he doesn't receive and sell stolen equipment. (Of course the serial number had been removed).

The shiteating grin on his face disappeared when I removed the forward handle and revealed my company name engraved in the shaft beneath.

The look on his face was almost worth all the hassle...ROFLMAO:cool2:

I'd check the pawn shops, especially in the more ethnic areas. Luigi's pawn shop on high st seems like a good place for stolen equipment to end up. Just a gut feeling from living in the area though.

What did you do? Walk out with it? Call the police?
