I found this trailer on ebay, actually not far from where I live, I would love to buy it but can't justify that nice of a trailer for part time mowing. If you collect your clippings as I do, this would be awesome! Nasty color though! Anyone have something like this?

Go to ebay and type in landsape trailer or mowers trailer, think they want 4500 but if you look close it is really heavy duty.

Interesting design, but they are asking way too much IMO.

Thats pretty neat, I've been trying to come up with a design too.(I'm tired of shoveling clippings). I like to back on and dump so not sure how a rear dump, like yours would work for me.

there is aolt of dirt work companies in my area that run trailers similar to that but without the side ramp. They seem to work very well. and even some irrigation compainies use them and have the extra dirt on the front and the trencher on the back.

go to northern tool's website and look at some of the options they have for a p/u truck. for about $150-200 you can get a bed-mounted device that unloads a truck in minutes, works w/ gravel, rocks and other debris too.

The back dump area has a rear 2way gate dump is 10' long. Front equipment area is 12' long with 2 side gates on (passenger) side. I keep my walker in the dump bed unless it gets to full then I move it up to the front deck. I'm in Nappanee, and Bremen alot you may have seen Me. I can probably email you a pic. Im new to this website site and havent quite figured everything out yet

i looked at one of those when I was looking around at dump trailers. But I didn't buy one because of a few reasons:
1. who's the manufacturer? It didn't seem to say anywhere
2. what are the specs on the trailer, gauge of steel, cylinder size, etc...
and (this was the big one)
3. I really have to wonder how stable that is when there's no load in the back, and you're trying to dump a heavy load off the side.

Sorry guys, been on a three day Golf trip and did not take the LT. I like how sweet tater's trailer looks, (do clippings blow around with the mesh sides). I think I could do that same design with a side dump on the front. The only thing different from the first pic I posted would be that it would be a lighter trailer and would use the winch and one side would have to have the tall support to mount it on. Kendall when you hit the reply button there will be a manage attatch. down at the bottom, from there you can browse and locate the pics you want to post on your computer. Would like to see yours for ideas. My trailer works great with the front half being four foot high so I just back my walker on and dump, however it is a b*#ch to unload. Got to figure something out just not sure what yet.

Northern Tool and Equipment sells a hoist for standard full size pickups. This is NOT an insert. It actually allows you to use the factory bed as a dump. Costs about $1200.00. When I buy my full-size in a few months, you can bet I'll be considering one of these!:cool2:

Problem with those kits is it puts alot of stress on the bed that it was not intended to hold i know i am going to get nailed on this by people who have no problem but 2 buddies of mine have had those kits on 2 seperate trucks and evenutaly the spot welds on the bed began to crack and seperate anyway i went with a dump insert

pclawncare is right on that one. I've seen alot about how heavy loads will twist the bed out of shape.

Sorry to rain on your parade its not a lot more money for the insert and i think you would get more value out of a dump insert. For one you can move it from truck to truck also you could sell it if you want when your done and it will have some value or you can put it on a trailer and use it that way with a battery so to me i felt that it was the better more economical business decision for me some may feel different

That is an awesome trailer, and setup for that matter. I think this has been asked on another thread but does that make it trail badly if the back is loaded?

Capstone commerce makes a similiar trailer. I've got a 20' 12,000lb rear dump made by them. The dump section is not quite as big though. Its only about 6'x7'. With my skid steer on the front I can put just over 3 tons in the dump and pull it pretty good. With out the skid steer i'm sure I could fit 4 tons of gravel. I really need to get some pics of it in action.
Only draw back with the rear dump is the axles are clear in the back. It puts a good bit of tongue weight on the truck. I've got a 2000 f-250 and put the firestone air bags on it. No problem now.

I drive the same truck, and I do agree, the firestone airbags work great.

I have a Chevy 1500 4x4 and it sags quite a bit with a load of grass and my walkers, how much would a set of these airbags set me back and how hard are they to install? or should I try extra leaf springs?

I think about 6-800 if you get the incab compressor and gauge with controls. Just be careful with them so you dont over load your 1/2 ton and its tires

Thank you for that info, I think if they are that much I will just wait till I can trade up to a 3/4 ton truck, I have been wanting a heavier one for all around towing anyway.

I cant remember for sure i was thinking close to 600 but its been a few yrs since i got mine. BTW i have 2 sets both on 3/4 ton dodges one with a dump insert sags approx 3-4in when loaded with a 800 pound insert 1800 lbs of grass and a 16 trailer w one walker on the front and one on the back and air bags at about 65psi now thats some weight i would recomend the in cab control if you do get them but i dont know that it would be a great idea to put them on a 1500 just dont know that other parts could handle the extra weight so yes i think a 3/4 would be a good starting point and if you need the extra lift you can get the bags

I'm finally back, the grass is keeping me hopping right now. The trailer pulls good empty or loaded. The back box is rated at 2 tons. I can easily haul 5 yds of mulch. The only drawback as some were saying is the hitch weight. Empty the hitch weight is 700 lbs with a exmark 60" in front of the dump box 1200lbs and with the exmark and a walker 1700lbs. If you notice in the picture I added a hitch stabilizer system. this has definately helped but its still really heavy. Ive also thought of an airbag system but havent researched that yet. Strobel Ind. was hoping to retail this trailer for$10000.00
