I have been closing somewhere around 20% of leads even when they are referrals. I am getting compared to Ch@%Lawn and another big one. Very frustrating.
Anyway what is a good close rate, Maybe im too high on my rates

Unfortunately, when you compare your service too someone who obviously can get better rates for their product buying by bulk. You must rely on superior service! Don't compromise on your price! Offer other benefits to other that they're not presently getting!

Humble, I'm with you, referrals are usually slam dunks and I tend to get a little higher price...not this year. I usually close about 40% of leads but I am getting 25% so far and my spring window is closing. No good news here.

This spring we are running at about 20%.
That is good for us as we usually only get 1 out of 7 estimate given.

I think your rate is good. Any better and you would not be charging enough, any more you would be too cheap.IMO

TM leads close for us at 10% (DNC has lowered the quality of the list significantly), referrals close over 80%, and call-in estimates close around 65-70% for us. If I had a guy closing only 20% of referrals, I'd fire him.

Word of mouth goes a long ways. Continue educating your self on your area. Products that are leagally available in your area, you can garentee that those same product are available to you also. No, difference!. Work it from the roots up~!
