Hello all,
just got delivery of my new SD 54 this afternoon. Got it with flex forks and the flex seat. This mower is replacing an old Sabre 54 inch deck garden tractor.
Well what can I say, this mower is night and day from my old one. This is the first time I've used a ZTR. After about 10 minutes of practice around my yard, I started mowing.....
Before I realized I was done. My total time came down to 1 hour from my usual 2 1/4 with my old mower. WOW.... I've been officially hooked into this ZTR concept.
Thanks for a great product :cool2:

Thanks for the welcome PJ. I'm looking ahead and planning for Winter. Is there an operator's manual for the blade attachment for this machine? Would like to be able to take a look at the item and how it operates before making the purchase decision. Thanks.

Did you consider the SD 48", or did you know from the start you wanted the 54" deck?
Curiuos as to the reasons for your choice.
Can I talk you into posting a pic?
I would like to see yours with seat and forks.

I had a 54" deck garden tractor and wanted the same size deck. Based on dealer pricing I would have picked a 60" ($100.00 price difference) if my storage shed and trailer would accomodate the 60" deck. Additionally I can get pretty close to my fence and other objects with the 54" as compared to the 48". I don't have the flex works yet as they were on backorder (hot item), as soon as I get them installed I will post some pictures. Thanks.

New guy to this forum, but I just picked up my first ZTR, a Fastrack SD 54" too.
I got the flex forks ordered, and can't wait to try them out. I picked up the mower yesterday, and tried it out on my lawn today, and loved it.
OKhustler - Make sure that you post your opinions on the flex forks when you get a chance. Also, what do you mean that you have the flex seat?

I don't want to thread jack, but I just picked up my Fastrack 54" SD two days ago too!!!
We don't have a lot of grass to mow right now, because it is so deathly dry up here but I did tool around on my lawn with it, and I love it. I can't wait to get it on some real grass and get cuttin'.
OKHustler - Make sure you post your opinions on the flex forks before and after if you have time. I ordered a set and they should be in very soon.
Also, what kind of seat do you have if it's not the flex seat through Hustler?
Does anyone know what kind of quick chute or similar would work best on this machine? I don't want anything motorized, just manual.
Thanks!

My dealer installed the Hustler Flex seat on my machine, I think they put some washers to act as shims to allow adjustment front and back. As far as the flex forks, they are probably the best $200.00 that I have spent to date. Without the flex forks I was not able to mow my lot at a fast rate of speed as the machine bounce a lot over the rough areas. After installing these babies is like I'm riding a different machine all together, smooth and feels securely planted to the ground. I love the forks and combined with the seat is like driving a caddy.. lol :cool2:

That mower is looking very sweet !!
FYI...
You don't have the Flex Seat, you have a suspension seat, 2 different things.

That's awesome that the forks make a huge difference. I mowed my field today which consists of 2-3 foot high hay and bumpy land as well and it was a little rough.
Mowerconsultant - where can I pick up one of those suspension seats?

The Flex Seat is actually not a seat.
It is a seat platform that Flexes with a rubber torsion axle.
It takes the back slap out of the ride and really smooths out the ride.
We only offer them for the full frame Hustler Z and Super Z right now.
Here is a picture of the set up.

I'm a homeowner, my 16 year old son mows 3 properties in our neighborhood. He will be putting more hours on it than me. I won't let him mow ours as it is too fun to mow with this machine.:cool2:

Use the Hustler Super Oil doubles the warranty on the engine.
What happened to your ROPS? Did you remove it? Love the upgraded seat. I'm looking into a new ZTR and this one is on my short list. BTW how big are the rear drive tires. Hustler site only says 20", but no other info.
Thanks...awesome looking mower!

How do the washers help? With them acting like shims, I can see how they could easily adjust front and back. I would love some adjustment on my machine. I bounce like crazy, it's nuts. I would love to be able to compare my machine to a caddy. I'll report back.
