does anyone know how to kill peanut grass without hurting desired landscaping.
a friend manages a golf course and the owner planted some pine trees with peanut grass as a ground cover and now wants the p-grass out
What you have is an other idiot landscaper who doesn't know or understand plants. Perennial Peanuts like Boston Fern should never of been planted in the first place. You must either remove all the soil or ground sterilize it to gain total control. However the economy way will be to Roundup and tear it out. Then spend the next 5 to 10 years spraying Roundup on new growth.

Since this is a legume, Lontrel will kill it without creating bare ground or damaging the pine trees. I absolutely hate when Perennial Peanut is used as a ground cover here. It gets infested by weeds and there is not very much you can do to control it without damaging the ground cover. It is actually easier for me to maintain mondo or liriope.
