Lets Try This Again

I may have posted this question under the wrong heading as I have'nt heard any replies or maybe this is a dumb question ? Has anybody ever switched their old mechanical style oil filter for a spin off type . I have a 20 hp briggs & straton riding lawn tractor that I'm trying to get the maximum life out off and thought there might be some sort of kit or process to change it.

What is a "mechanical" oil filter?

Post some engine numbers so we can see what you have.

If it's a model number with less than 5 digits, don't bother - you have an antique.
