i have a spot 30x35' i need to sod.the guy i contacted tells me i need 3 skids at a total of 540 bucks.that sems like a lot of money to do a area that size.am i being to cheap or what?

I have one lawn with Zoysia, no irrigation, and it goes dormant very fast in the heat here. In the long drought after Katrina we thought it might be dead but it did come back. I've never seen it advertised or being installed in this area. I've no idea about pricing.

That is about right for 3 pallets of zoysia.

I can get it for less than $400 here. Is this for your own yard? If so use half the amount and stagger it. The sod pieces will spread and fill in what you didn't sod.
For where I live that would be a bargain. And you will love the zoysia.

Around here, you will need 116 yds. That's at about 50 yds per pallet, that's 2-3/4 pallets. You can stretch and stagger, but it will take a year or 2 to knit together. Around here, it has been about 3 times as expensive as northern (KBG or TF) sod. That price doesn't sound real bad!
