I have a 28ft. enclosed trailer in which the brake are inconsistent. Sometimes they grab and I turn down the controller and then they won't hardly work and just push the truck along. Is there something I can do to fix this?

jtk, there are many things you can do. Here is the order I would do them in.
Hook tow vehicle to trailer.
Have a buddy put the tow vehicle brakes on (push brake pedal) while you listen to the trailer's brakes. You are listening for a "humming" sound. If there is a "humming" sound the brakes are working.
99% of the time when electric brakes do not work it is due to grounding issues.
The most frustrating part is when the brakes work while checking them (while in park) but out on the road they fail.
The next thing to do is change the plug. It is a cheap and clean fix.
If that does not work.
Get under the trailer and resecure/change the ground wires.
If you go through all these steps and have no success get back to me. There is more. -SL
