In the last 6 Months I have had two friends have their loaded trailers stolen from their driveways during the night time hours here in Huntsville. Both had the trailers loaded and not hooked to a vehicle, someone is watching, one was taking in a 2hr window. Also check with your insurance company dont assume your homeowners will cover it. One didnt cover anything and one (State Farm) covered everything but the trailer.

I'm sorry to say it, but if they don't secure their equipment then they're essentially inviting someone to take their stuff !! It doesn't make the act of actually stealing it any less evil, however, if someone is that stupid then they don't deserve to keep the equipment.

I have tried to contact insurance companies for several reasons but mainly for statistics and to check and see if ....by using anti-theft locks I could get a reduced rate for the customers. I am not sharp enough to contact these insurance individuals....they are hidden so deep within their own companies that it is next to impossible to even get the name of such people or their titles. And all of this is very helpful for thefts because it is now a 15 BILLION dollar problem and getting bigger.....Ken

LifeTree , you are so right about your statement,it just doesnt make any sense at all to have 20k plus sitting on a trailer at your house when its not being used, unlocked in the driveway just asking to be stolen.

Hey Y'all just to let you know, the crew was on the job and the cameras were rolling and the dude jacked the ignition(keys were in the ash tray) and the guys watched the truck and trailer go off down the road in broad daylight, times are tough, sorry to say but somebody has to keep a vigilant eye or pistol-lookout at all times!!!

That is why we do not have a neighborhood watch. We have the neighborhood death watch. We do not call the police we call the morgue.
