just wondering what you guys are using for back pack sprayers, i have two of them, one is a lesco, and the other is a shindiawa. i have to say i prefer the design of the tank on the lesco over the shindiawa, but i prefer the nozzle that the shindiawa comes with better. so what are you guys using??????????

I still really LOVE my Birchmier 10k (2.5 Gal). Light, Superdependable and the stock cone nozzle goes A LONG WAY when spot spraying!

Easy to rebuild and maintain too....Never Leaks.

Stihl SG20

I have the Stihl too. Its a solid unit. The only thing I absolutely HATE about it. The straps. The straps will not keep tension at all. I am going to tape it tight I guess.

I'm starting to hate my lesco and schiindy after i got a stihl sg 20 this season. Same price as the schindawa but FAR more superior than both.

I haven't had a problem with the straps. Original black Goodyear hose on mine is beginning to crack. Just need to replace with some clear threadweave hose. Other than that, I love it! Folds up nice. Packs away tight.

The "new" Lesco commercial backpack. It's made by Gilmour.

Shades, I hate a shindaiwa I have. I bought the 515? with the chrome pump shaft. It worked great for about a week then I got a little dent in it right after I bought it and all the chrome started flaking off. A year later and I'm still picking chrome flakes out the filter. Have to try the Stihl.

Use Solo & Stihl SG 20. Like the Stihl, but I am disappointed with how quick I had to replace the hose.

I hope my Stihl hose holds up.

Where at in the CSRA?

This question has come up before. I used to use either a Solo 425 or an SP1. No pressure, no volume and whatever pressure/ volume is generated depended on me frantically pumping. Now I use a Maruyama MS074 and a Solo 433. Both of those sprayers have engine driven duplex piston pumps outputting 2GPM and over 350PSI. I spray trees using an ARAG tree gun and lawns with a 2 or 3 nozzle walking boom. These two sprayers do everything a skid mount does and allow me to access sites that are difficult to pull a hose to.

I used to have two Shindaiwas with the GoodYear hoses. Now whenever I buy a new sprayer, I don't care what it's made of or how well; if it has GoodYear hoses, I move on to the next choice.

Hey Shades, why do you like the SG 20 so much more than the other two? I'm going to be in the market for another backpack soon.

Solo's backpack and Lesco's Backpack are appear to be identical.
