Push mower, weed whip and truck = Lawn care service
To those who do this as career re- think name before it goes to print..
Lawn service is a dying name to us who do this professionally.

Getting my truck lettered later this week and lawn service will not be listed ...

I went with Lush Green Lawn for kind of the same reason. Everyone seems to have Johns Lawn Service, Jims Lawn Service, ect.

Kind of like the same taglines you keep seeing.

The Grass is Greener on our side (Or some variation)
You Grow it, We Mow it (tacky anyway, but people use it)
You've tried the rest, now try the best! (Contractors like this one also)

Mine is just "Lawn Specialties, LLC". If they can't figure out what type business it is, they probably can't afford me anyway.

Yeah, I wish I had thought about not using "Lawn Care" in my title 6 years ago. But I didn't even know at that time that I was going to make this a full time business. I like Grounds Maintenance, Property Management or Landscape Management. They all sound professional if they are somewhere in your name or your slogan.

I figured folks would figure out what kind of business I'm in from my name, TomberLawn. I have thought about maybe underlining the Lawn part on the tailgate, so people notice it more than the first part, which is part of my last name. It does look kind of cool, like ChemLawn. I read an article in Turf magazine (I think) about naming businesses and it talked about "(Your Name Here) Lawn Service" vs. a broader name without the owner's name in it. I think the company that was featured in the article was Southern Exposure Lawn and Landscape.
I actually came up with my name during a high school chemistry class. I asked a couple folks what they thought about it and I've gotten a lot of good comments lately, especially since lettering my truck. A lot of people who know me (women) will say it's cute that I have part of my name in my business name. I have wondered what to do about an expanding service menu in the future--maybe I'll just open a new division and call it TomberLandscape.

Landscape maintenance or landscape & maintenance depending on what all you plan to do with your name in front of the title that shows you don't just cut grass only

Turf Commando, Professional Grounds Maintenance

Commando:
In military science, the term commando can refer to an individual, a military unit, or a raiding style of military operation. In some contexts, "commando" means elite light infantry or special forces. Commando units have a variety of specialist capabilities which enable them to conduct these kind of operations, most notable a broad range of deployment skills which often include parachuting, airborne rappelling or fast-roping, or amphibious landings.

Well at least you don't have the words lawn care service in their....

The Grounds Master
Professional Grounds Maintenance and Landscape Services

(though my t shirts say Lawn and Landscape Services)

with the price of fuel and everything else going up it seems the lawn care industry is getting worse. i'd love it if i could mostly do mowing and make the same money i do landscaping, but it's not going to happen.

..but i agree, everytime i see "so-and-so's lawn care" i always see a 1500 pickup with a cheap trailer and a mower. not that there's anything wrong with that, but to STAND out and look like a professional company, i don't believe "lawn care" is good to put in any name. so if you're doing just a lawn care business and want to stand out, i would recommend doing something that's or course unique, but that doesn't make you fit in with all of the other 'joe schmoe lawn care's' out there...

I like it, so long as you have a staff of workers - as "we" implies.

If it's just you, then I don't like it. IMHO

i disagree.i have been in business since 1982 and used to run 5 landscape trucks and 3 maintenance with i troubleshooter.now i am down to just lawn maintenance and i do not have anyything on my trcuck.work byreferals(90 percent) and i put more money in my pocket now and dont have to lay anybody off because its slow.a lot of times "us joe shmoes" were doing this when you were in diapers.

I'm not in the business (but I have a lot of respect for you guys who make it work). I'm a college professor with a PhD - read this site for mower and lawncare advice from the experts. If I ever open my business, and I've thought about it when I get sick of whining students and whacko administrative decisions, I would be turPhDoc.

TurPHDoc's Poohshoes LawnCare-cool!!!

We primarily focus on commercial work and have Landscape Contractors attached to our company name. I like to use the terms GroundsCare, Snow and Ice Management, and Landscape Development to outline what we do. I know its a bunch of fluff, but it works well for us. Sounds alot BIGGER than maintenance, plowing and construction.

How about Mobile Erections - We come to you!

Rachael24 - since you are stumped why not name it Stumpy's lawn Care or something like that. I have a good name which has really worked well for me but my second choice back in those days was Farmer's Property Management. The word Farmer has a natural cultivating ring to it.
