Pj, I just recently started hearing a strange noise coming from the left rear of my mini. It only starts when the pto in engaged and gets louder as the day go's on . I took it in today to Laurel Mowers in Chews Landing, NJ.
Could this be the clutch? The machine is only 1 year old.
Thanks for any input and help. Grassmannj

It is possible, hard to say without seeing the mower.
High pitch or grinding noise?
What did they say? have you heard yet?

That certainly would be a similar sound.
Covered under warranty? not sure when you bought the mower, refresh my memory, but if its within the 2 years since you bought it, it should be covered.
Let me know if its still waiting on the part, I can inquire as to why.

Its Friday Ive been without my Hustler for a week, they were suppose to call me today and guess what they did not. I'm kicking my self for going the hustler route and not an other name brand with maybe a better sevice department. Its unacceptable in my book especially when they said they don't hold big machines for over three days unless its a major problem, and if the machine is only a year old it BETTER be under warranty.
