View Full Version : Spraying Amine 400 & 15 gal. sprayer

I just bought a 15 gal. fimco to spray my yard and picked up some Amine 400 at the local farm store. I am trying to figure out how much to put in the sprayer? I have about 3/4 acre with a house on it. As far as I can figure it looks like about 4 to 5 fl. oz. per tank full. Any help would be appreciated.

Fill the tank with 5 gals of water and measure how many square feet you will cover per gallon. If a gallon covers 2000 sqft, then add enough weed herbicide to cover 2000 sqft for each gallon.
If rate is given per acre as 2 quarts per acre, that is 64 ounces per acre--which is about 1.5 ounces per 1000 sqft. Mis accordingly. Or better yet, hire a professional--that is why we get the big bucks. LOL!

If this is pulled or mounted to your mower, speed also plays a part. Put the engine at 1/4-1/3 throttle when spraying-as long as the speed is not too slow or fast. After determining the speed at which you will spray then calibrate the gallons per thousand sq ft like Riggle posted. For example I have 2 25 gallon units. The 1.0gpm pump sprays 64 ounces/k and the 1.8 pump puts out 99 ounces/k. Then I mix enough chemical for what the water will cover.
