Having Trouble with invasive weed.

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if someone here could help me identify this weed in my backyard. It is in several places and covers about 10 square feet in each spot. I thought it might be creeping charlie but the leave don't seem to be the same.

Here is the weed.

Any ideas on how to get rid of this.

Looks like ajuga reptans. Bugleweed. Could be wrong, but fairly sure.

It definitely is ajuga. I love it and have been trying to grow it for several years. But it doesn't spread too well on my lot. I'd need a few thousand more plants to cover all the ground with it I'd like to, but it's too expensive to buy......roughly 10 bucks each. I've tried growing it from seed ($50 worth), but it didn't take.

Thanks for the help identifying the plant.

If I knew how long it would last in the mail I would ship a load down to you.

It is everywhere here. That is way I am trying to get rid of it. It is all through out my lawn. My first spring in my first house has brought up a lot interesting things.

Try Roundup. That seems to kill most broadleaf plants.
