HI!

I have a Husqvarna 125BT blower and it says if you use genuine Husqvarna 2 stroke oil, mix at 1:50 but if you use another brand mix at 1:33

Is Husqvarna oil really that special that I don't need as much?

Also, it says after the blower is broken in, take it to a mechanical to adjust the carb... what adjustment(s) would this include so I can do it myself?

Thanks!

Consider looking at Amsoil Saber Professional 2-cycle at a 80:1 ratio. Very high quality synthetic oil. Yes, it is that good at even 100:1. Here is some more food for thought.

So is oil-gas ratio more a function of oil performance rather than engine design requirements?

You could say that. Most 2-cycle oils are made to provide enough lubrication at 50:1 which these days is the norm. Amsoil 2-cycle has enough lubrication properties when mixed as lean as 100:1 to provide sufficient oil to the engine.
