I have a 17/36 mini Z with a mulch kit. Yesterday I mowed my fescue and there were clumps of grass left in many spots, especially when I did a turn around on the driveway. The grass blew out from under the deck all over the driveway. On average I think I was taking about an inch off. The clippings didn't seem to be chopped or minced up like I thought they would. I am using the wavy blades (794214 & 794206). Am I taking too much off, going too fast? The deck might have some built up clumps underneath. Will cleaning underneath make a big difference?

Thanks,
Aron

Get the deck cleaned out, make sure the deck belt is tensioned properly and take no more than 1/3 of the grass off in a single pass at a reasonable speed and you should be good.
Full throttle also.
Let me know how it is after all this.

What is the correct tension in the belt and how do you check it?

Thanks,
Aron
