I use a big floor belt sander. And it will sharpen a blade fast and not heat it up. Also get it sharp enough to cut your finger open if you slide it across it.
I have one like this one. but a cheaper priced one.

Also I have a 80 grit belt on it for sharpening blades.

magna-matic, seems like a lot of $ to fork out at first, but it is well worth it in the long run

i never seen anyone do it that way , with a belt sander....

It works great. And allows the whole part that you sharpen to be on the belt at one time. And as I posted. It does not heat your blade up. And man does it Sharpen a blade.
A buddy of mine told about using it for this. And then I found out a lot of others also use the same deal.
I will try and get my wife to get a video of me using it on a few blades and post a link.
