What's the best trash pump?

I need a trash pump to sump out the sand bunkers at our golf course after a heavy rain. I have around $400 to spend.

Any suggestions? I've never owned one.

Depending on the size of the solids you want to pass, Northern hasa pump that will pass 3/4" for $429. Try Northerntool.com, they have lots of this stuff. If you can afford a Honda , DO IT.

I thought the idea was to keep sand in the bunkers.:D

Seriously though,

I was asst. super at a GC for years and I can tell you that sand will chew up any pump but a " diaphram pump", and those are well over 400 bucks.

If you can't afford a diaphram pump then make certain the pump you buy has a cast iron housing, not a aluminum housing.
