In the last 15 years I have had the pleasure of working for some very wealthy people. We worked for a particular multi millionaire (international businessman) on his 350 acre ranch, for almost two years, and I had thought I had died and gone to heaven every day when working on that property. Last year we worked for a multi-billionaire, which made all the other examples of affluence look like the homeless of the Rich and Famous world. It amazes me to observe how some people with big money live life. What have any of your experiences been with the Rich and Famous.

A friend of mine (now deceased) stole Paul Newman's JD lawn tractor....

As an aside, Paul Newman almost ran my wife off the road (when she was in high school, before I knew her). He used to drive an old beater station wagon.
She also saw Patrick Stewart having lunch in the Orange, CT TGI Fridays with an agent/theatre rep.

Seems I always miss out on stuff....

I was in line with David Copperfield at Kings Island once. I was standing right next to him and would have never known, but my friends went crazy.
I could see it in his eyes..(I wish these damn people would leave me alone)

Ate dinner at a small Italian restraunt in downtown Austin a few months ago and Quentin Tarentino was sitting at the next table with a group. They were pretty loud and obnoxious.
When I was younger we landscaped Bo Jackson's house in Kansas City. He was pretty cool he used to come out and talk to me and bring out cold beers at the end of the day. I'd shoot the breeze with him like any other guy and he seemed to like that. My boss came around one time and he came out, the boss started making a big deal out of it and asked him for his autograph and it P*ssed Bo off. Bo told him he didn't want to deal with him anymore, if he needed to say anything to us he'd talk to me about it form now on. My boss didn't have much to say to me for several days after that.

Where I used to work (lawn & garden supply store) we had a few celebs as customers...

Martha Stewart, Meatloaf, Bill Smitrovich, couple others that I can't remember their names....

Oh, yeah. My uncle ate lunch with Bob Crane in Stratford, once.
And Wally Cox used to eat dinner in Monroe.

They were landscape construction jobs. We moved, shaped and removed and reshaped dirt around on one of them for 8 months before the berms 'were just right'. All by the hour of course. Its where I came up with my favourite saying...which is below.

I was sealing a football legend's multi-pool water feature one day when the crack-head assigned to help me finally decided to help. As I was backing out of the last pool, I kicked over the gallon of chlorinated rubber paint which he had placed directly behind me.
I don't want to use the homeowner's name, because I don't want Bruce Smith to beat me to a pulp. I really. really made sure that there was never any indication that anything had happened, including hand-shearing the new sod (Over 2 5-gallon buckets of fresh topsoil) and never telling him.

I thought this was to be about who you've worked for...but anyways, I burnt Matts Sundin's hand with my cigarette while reaching for a drink at the bar one night. I then put a beating on Tie Domi-(just kidding), but the Mats Sundin part is true.

I drove around George Clinton and Parliment one time. Then I watched George smoke some rock out of a "water pipe". I was driving around his personal medic, ask him what he does, he turn and looked at me and said " I keep George alive".

Every now and then I run into the CEO of State Farm Ins. You usually see him at equipment auctions, and at the local Tractor Supply store.

I graduated from Auburn University in '85. I was in a class with Bo Jackson when he was a freshman (Bo Knows Geography!! :). He was really quiet as a freshman, but also a good student.
I played in a couple pick up games with Chuck Person in the Student Rec Center while taking summer classes one year.

More recently, while working at my wife's bookstore during the winters, we've had a number of country music people as customers....Naomi and Wynonna Judd, Lorrie Morgan, Michael Martin Murphy, and a few others that I'm aware of.
Oh, and this winter, Eddie George almost ran over me at Harris Teeter (I'm big, but Eddie George is HUGE!).

In CA I worked on many big estates, the biggest one is on the market right now for about $35m. Other than Francis Ford Coppola I don't think any of them were nationally famous accept for a famous old time blues singer/musician but I can't remember the name now. He just lived on a little 1 acre country property with some farm animals in the back. Poor guy got used and abused by the music industry and didn't have very much money now according to the neighbor who was also a customer of ours.

I did do tree work at a "famous" musicians house once but the problem is nobody knew who this person was, literally. Everything was under the housekeepers name and that was the only person we dealt with. The "celebrity" stayed inside the house the whole time we worked there, all the blinds closed, and the housekeeper would come out and tell us what he wanted. I think the dude was just a freak and probably a no-name bass player in a jazz band or something and just wanted to feel important. The property was small and kind of a dump really. For not wanting anyone to know who he was he sure made a big production about being anonymous :) .
