View Full Version : Exmark Carb Issues????

Here goes....exmark explorerer that runs poorly when r/s of machine is downhill and accelerates on its own when the l/s is downhill.... I cleaned the carb out and checked the float for binding.... maybe a pinhole in the float???all looks good.....so please any help would be great

Float type carbs are designed to be operated in a perfect level world. In cases where it doesn't run correctly on inclines is ussally normal. You have probably just found it's limit of incline. I would check the float level and not worry about the times where it may not run at 100% on inclines. Some carbs seem to run in most postions while some may not. That's why they don't install float type carbs on chain saws and trimmers. If you had a hole in the float the carb would fill completly up and it would cause an extra rich mixture or not run at all. Or running out on the ground. I believe the float is fine.
