reducing tees or saddles?

I work for couple irrigation contractors every now and then and they do some things a bit differently.

One guy uses reducing tees to run the funny pipe off of the lines to the heads, while the other uses saddles to run the funny pipe off of the lines to the heads.

Was wondering what you guys prefer. The saddles are much easier, but the T's seem less likely to fail over time........one swears by the saddles and the other hates them..

maybe just a matter of personal preference?

The older bronze saddles were the pits to use. They would fail on a regular basis. I have used tees and the newer saddles. A saddle is substantially cheaper to install and the new plastic ones seem to hold up well.

The plastic saddles are the way to go. The are easy to intall, and if installed correctly they work good. They also give you minimal pressure loss in your line.
