Quite a few. I've never really counted though. I use a 4 and 1/2 inch handheld grinder with a 120 grit disc instead of the regular grinding wheel. With the finer grit I keep the temp. low and the amount of metal taken off down to a minimum. I can easily take only the needed amount to put a nice edge on. I'm guessing about a whole season on one blade(s) per machine.

Are you cutting grass or rocks?
It sounds like you are taking to much off your blade edge when sharpening.
I change blades everyday as well- but only 2 weeks and the blades are junk is crazy. You must have sandy, sandy soil.

No NOT 2 hrs. EVERY DAY. I just purchased a 60" Exmark and today was it's 1st day out. and yes the blades are dull...

However I'm using the ole 4" hand grinder.

these baldes should last about 2 weeks.

With daily sharpenings I get an entire season out of 1 set of blades. Before we got a dedicated blade grinder we would go through 3 sets a year with the hand grinder.

60 hrs for high lift blades on a jd 757 60 inch sharpen every 2 days -- toro blades not- high lift only last about 2-1/2 weeks hours i don't know. both could be sharpened more but the lift edge on the blade is worn off from sand. jd blades last longer because they are thicker.

I get one sharpening out of mine on my zero turn... the little ones i sharpen alot more then that but it varies alot. My zero turn blades i replace every 60-80 hrs. I just threw away a set that had 80 hrs on them i sharpened them twice but i really should have thrown them away sooner.

My crews maintain over 250 acres per week for about eight months out of the year.
Residential, municipal, large area school district and right of way mowing - the works.
That said blades are changed out about every ten to twelve hours of mowing.
I average about a year to a bit over for one set of blades.
The blades are sharpened with an old Neary rotary blade grinder then balanced on a MagneMatic balancer.
I attribute the longevity of the blades more towards the balancing than anything else.

If all I had was one set of blades, I would get at least one season out of them.

Man I'd like to be your blade salesman. That is crazy! I mow a 12 acre cemetery and alternate blades between mowings. I have 2 sets and they are both in the 3rd season of mowing. I know they will go the rest of the year NO problem. I use a 4.5" grinder tool with a 36-40 grit flap disc sander wheel on it. It does an excellent job taking off just the blunt edge.
