I like echo, good prices, good reliability, and they are going some where. Their new trimmers are some of the best ive ever used.

This has been debated forever here and elsewhere. I run Stihl because of the power difference but it also comes down to dealer support.

I've always wanted to demo Echo's biggest, baddest, blower. Only problem is the dealer for them is my local equipment rental place, which charges me $25 if I decide not to buy, can you believe that Chit...?

Anyways, bought the Stihl BR550 best blower for the buck around my dealer has my back no complaints..

I love Stihl.
But I have a 20 year old Echo SRM 1501 trimmer with an Edgit on it that is great for edging.
Is it powerful? Not really. It has just enough.
Does it start right up? 3-4 pulls, hot or cold.
Reliable? Couple of sparkplugs and a rewind or two. I think I even changed the air filter once or twice. Last month I lubed the gears in the head for the first time.
I won't put any money into it if anything happens, but hell, you just got to respect a stupid trimmer that don't have the sense to just die.

I doubt that this trimmer's replacement will last near as long or be so cheap to own.
