i think he means a diagram pump, and yes you can, the problem with piston pumps is the wear points hurt the biology, impeller/ centrifugal pumps are ok as long as the impeller is not like a razor blade, diaphragm pumps have less sharp points and maintain an evener pressure, they are the pump of choice.

I have diaphragm pumps on my sprayer at this time, and use one to transfer from the brew tank to the sprayer tank. But I am building another tank system inside a van that I want to use just for spraying yards.

It is a plunger pump not a diaphragm pump. It has a 4 GPM and 200 max psi.
