While doing lawn maintenance on one of our gas stations on a busy Memphis street I nailed a car window with a, I'm assuming a "rock" from the weedeater? while sitting at a traffic light. This is a 6 lane road, and the odds are pretty good this will happen again at some point hope its a couple of years though. The guy was very understanding, I wanted him to get an estimate; however he wanted cash, we decided on $160.00. This is only the second window break in 7 years.

OOOPPPPPSSSS!!!!!!!!! Is what I can put that is lawnsite safe that you said, lol. Glad that come off the trimmer and not out from the mower. Hey at least he settled on cash rather than the hassle of the insurance claim.

i love google theirs a online window repair estimator/quote! the cost for this window repair from three local glass repair companies is averaging $275.00. i did make it clear that the $160.00 was final. If he wanted more cash he would need a official estimate first.

Hell, I'd say good thing the window was UP. Probably would have been much more than $160 if the window was down.

You made out like a bandit on price. Just getting that re-tinted will probably cost him $50-75.

Haha, glad to hear it worked out well for you. Guy must have needed some cold hard cash because the tint alone is gonna take half his repair money.

80 bucks to have the window tinted?! Around here, a high quality place charges around 150 for a whole four door car!

I would really like to see a quality tint job on a 4 door car for $150...considering removal goes for at least $30+, then add in the tinting itself and I would bet your bill will be upwards of half of what he paid out. Just like that neighbor that wants you to mow their lawn one time or just mow and not weedeat. You think a reputable biz is going to tint a window for chump change?

Regardless he only wanted the $160.00 cash his figure to be "even", and refused to get a "real" estimate. I wrote him the check he agreed to sign a written release of liability, and was gone. I still wonder how he will be able to replace the window & tint for $160.00 not my problem now

I'd say you got by cheap on that one! I woundn't know why he wouldn't want to get an estimate first unless like mentioned earlier it was a company car or he just didn't truck you that you would pay it once he got the estimate. Or he was just a nice guy!

He was nice, but IMO he must have been screwed by someone, he was nervous; because he wanted to trust me, and I kept telling him to get a estimate I would take care of him, he was like I know? I need too, but he kept saying he could get it fixed for $160.00 .
