nice ride. Those are rock solid and comfy. I drive a 2006 corolla le. Can't beat Honda and toyota.

What's your gas milage? Mine is 34 city and highway combined. 4 speed auto.

Your right, you cant beat honda or toyota. My dad had a corolla that had over 250,000 miles on it when he traded it and it still ran like a top. It gets about the same, about 35 mpg average, if you take it on the highway it gets around 40 mpg.:)

Did gas prices really justify the purchase of a new vehicle? If you paid cash, than I'd have a better response. Nice Honda though!

This was my graduation gift, I had to put some money down. I will be driving 30 miles to school and back, so yes, the money I save in gas will overcome the total cost of the car. Driving my Dodge Dakota would kill me in gas.

The sad thing is we really don't even know what "american" is anymore, do we???? I hate to say it but, we're slowly losing control of our own country. Don't want to bum out your thread but, you did post a pic of a Japanese car while most are posting pics of they're Ford's. Are Ford's still made in America? I don't even know anymore!!!!

Nice car...would look nice sitting next to my 2 Toyotas

Fords are made in Mexico and Canada...if I aint mistaken Toyotas and Hondas have a better than 70% American parts content and are built here in the US. US workers making US wages, spending US money in the USA. Pay a Mexican or a Canadian to build a Ford and where is the money spent? Get off the buy american soap box, nothing is completely made in USA anymore.

For you that say buy American, take a look around your house...your TV, VCR, DVD player, washing machine, dryer other appliances....most made in Mexico or China. If you buy only American made stuff you likely don't own any of the above mentioned electronics and your house is likely very uncomfortable.

Ever eat bananas? You think they were grown here?

I could not have said it better! Let us also not forget the engines that run those nice mowers we use... Honda and Kawasaki. Bottom line, why blow money on a compact car, or anything for that matter when it has a track record of being **** (Ford Focus, Chevy Cavalier, etc.) when you can buy smart and have the same product last 3-4x longer?

The car is 70% U.S., more than some domestic brands. I would go american but the quality and milage is not as good. I do have an american truck and equipment though.:) Like said in the above posts, nothing is 100% american anymore. My John Deere tractor may have the american icon, but it is about 90% japan manufactured. Many american made cars and trucks say "ASSEMBLED in USA" not made. Some parts may come from Canada, Mexico, Japan, etc. I know, I know, they are still in american factories, which is good, but they are not MADE here. Like said in the above posts, look at your ztr engines. Kaw and Honda kicks Brigg's a%$! I have to go with what works for me.

Good for you. Maybe if the american automakers werent such dumb a$#@%, and started building more small cars a long time ago, they wouldnt be in the trouble they are now. Maybe you can explain why companies such as GM has stock in porn companies instead of worrying about getting better MPG. Dont get me wrong, I buy as many american products as I can, and I would like to see the big three succeed, but japanese manufacturers can build small cars without making them look like an oversized golf cart. Most of my machines are as american as apple pie, but start up a ford and then start up a rice burner and tell me there is no difference. Next time I decide to show one of my new toys, I will go elsewhere.

Until Ford, Chevy and Dodge produce something equal to a Toyota or a Honda I don't have a choice. Toyota is building plants all over the US as is Honda.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Ford and GM having been building cars and trucks in the US for a hundred years, they have put food on the table for millions of Americans, but how quickly people like you forget. Toyota and Honda have the advantage of non Union sweat shops, if Ford was not choked by the Union, then maybe Ford would not have to build outside the country, it is the only way to compete against a non union company. The funny thing is Ford still builds more than both of them here in the States and the even funnier thing is that even with Toyota and Honda having the non union advantage they still underpay and hire a "Temporary" workforce and thier cars are still overpriced and increased this year. And guess what Ford and GM ranked higher in quality this year than Toyota..LOL..

So what, China is one of the largest markets right now for automobiles. Toyota, is also building in China, these are cars for China..JFYI..The Prius will soon be built in China for the world..Hmmm wont be long before all the Toyotas are built in China.

Prius to be built in China, this is great for the US economy

My point is, American cars are not American and a little bit of all cars including Toyota is made in different countries. It just so happens that Toyota and Honda quality justifies the higher price tag and the old wordage...you get what you pay for...or less applies.

That's cool man what ever, but as far as quality is concerned, American cars in the past may not have been as good Japanese cars but that has changed, If you have driven some of the new Fords and read up on them, you would see they are just as good as any Toyota and Honda. Drive by any Toyota dealership and look in the garage and you will see that it is full of cars being repaired, so Toyota has its problems too, not to mention they been in the headlines for recall after recall.

Of course you see Toyotas at a shop at the dealership (Oil, brakes and maintenance)...but most drove there on their own, not in tow or on a skid truck. Go by any dealer and you will see cars in the shop...but go down the highway and count how many Fords, Chevys and Dodge cars are on the side of the highway.

You cannot truthfully say a Ford Focus is as good as a Civic or a Corolla and still sleep at night can you?

Why has Toyota been in headlines? Well people like you love to read stuff like that...but as a mechanic and in reading of TSB and recalls...look at a Chevy compared to a Tundra and report back the amount of pages each...last I looked it was 1.5 pages for a Tundra and about 6 pages for a 1500 Chevy.

I'll get a Ford truck when you switch over your engines on your mowers to Briggs and Stratton!

Whether or not you can carry your equipment with this car has little or no bearing on the reason to purchase this car. I assume some of the posters have wives and all of them drive F-250's to get grocery's? Just because you cant pull a trailer or haul equipment (I guess you still can) with a Honda Accord doesnt mean it wont be used. I have 4 wheel drive on my Tacoma's (You know, the Jap crap) and just because I dont use 4x4 everyday doesnt mean I dont want to have it. I can also edge with a trimmer but I also own an edger, I can also cut wood with a hand saw but also own a Stihl chainsaw.

Its also saying "hey Toyota's quality going down" but it all depends on how you look at it. All vehicles have problems and depending on whos taking care of them they will have less or more. I've know people that never did a single oil change on their 3 year lease vehicles. This whole thread started with a guy showing his new car and some folks gave their opinion if you dont like it dont post it up on a public forum then.

I always say buy what you like and want. I buy GM products because I like them and have always had good luck with them. Now days pretty much all cars and trucks are pretty good. When it comes to trucks the Tundra and Titan just dont stack up well againt the big 3. My poor cousins tundra is faling apart and all he ever did with it is deliver news papers.

The little ecotec motor in the cobalts and such are awsome little engines. People are starting to say its quite possibly one of the very best built small engines ever made. Its just like the LSX line of engines. Alot of people tout them as being "built by the hands of god".
