that lets water out..

I always thought it was a pressure regulator of some kid for the head...to much pressure water comes out very fast...Not enough pressure no water comes out...

thoughts?

comments?

That is a good question..... I too have wondered. Had a few customers complain about it. Thought maybe it was a bad internal seal.

P.S. Ed, quick .... get a picture posted before a certain someone hammers you! ;)

anyone gona take a stab @ this one??

also since I have you here why do some of the older model mini clicks, have an open wire that is meant to be open?

isn't it where the water escapes from running the gears? Never took one apart. But sounds like a good idea.

Never thought they were worth screwing around with, so...no help.

The little hole is there because it drains water from an area it sometimes leaks into. Oldest PGPs had no hole, and some of them popped apart after the water froze. File it under "stuff they don't think of in Sunny California, when they first design sprinkler heads." Notice that more water can leak at low operating pressures, than at higher pressures.

Toro had a similar gaffe with the Super700 heads, and fixed it by filling the airspace with foam plastic.

For normally open (hydraulic) valves, if I remember correctly.

Or to confuse the installer and make him ask his sales rep questions that the rep is unqualified to answer.

i'm pretty sure the third wire is for a normally open system. Don't see too many of them around.

Toro Vision controllers needed that third wire.

The third wire on a Vision is to tie an m80 to and blow that useless POS off the wall.
