Glad I found this place...I have a problem with a piece of equipment that I and others are trying to diagnose...

JD LX279 Purchased new in 2000
48 inch Deck Power Flow Rear Bagger.

No hour meter, but has medium to high hours.

Has run perfect with regular maintenance until...

Last year right at the end of the season, it started to "shudder" after using it for more than an hour. It is fine up till then.

The Shudder feels like it is tranny related, it is 100% not the engine. I generally mow "foot to the floor" at 3 to 3.25" cutting height. when I am at full speed there is no issue...it's only when I let off on the peddle a little to slow down to say, go around a tree, then the pedal starts vibrating on my foot. The only way to "cure" it is to let off then floor it again, but then the mower LEAPS forward, and that is a safety issue.

Anyone else experience this?

Is your hydro fluid (20W-50) low?

Negative...checked last week during oil change/deck level/new gauge wheel service.
