I used to install more of these with 2 and 3 valve manifolds than any other box. I loved the small footprint. If I remember right, they are Carson and are 10" across.

Also an example of the quality of backfill that I made my guys do. All sod goes back, and every last bit of dirt is raked up.

It's too big.:)

We'd do that with two 6" VBs side by side.

Are the sides slanted, like a standard rectangular box?

Looks like a 10" square VB.

We'd jam 4 1-inch valves into that sucker, and yes, we do use 'em.

Nice handles. I've seen them before.

The wires connect to the gimbal bearing to be fitted at a later date. The extra wire is for the freeze sensor.

Looks like manual ball valves and the wire is for in the future of swapping those ball valves out for electric valves.

We have done this on a few jobs as well.

They are, tho made third world to gringo specs, nice iso gate valves.
Wires are shunts for future.

Gate valves suck

Gate valves suckClearly, you have never encountered a resilient-seated gate valve. :nono:

clearly I have encountered gate valves that will not achieve positive shutoff due to water deposits over time.

clearly I have encountered gate valves that will not achieve positive shutoff due to water deposits over time. That's why they invented resilient-seated gate valves, which still see usage in larger backflow assemblies. For a brief time, they also were used in some smaller BPs sold by Rainbird and Watts. Ball valves became cheaper, so they're history by now.
