David has worked his whole life I think.

He once took his older sister's shift when they called her in and she was out. He worked the whole evening in the kitchen and they finally asked him how old he was. Paid him and told him to come back in 2 years.

He dropped out of school and went to Hawaii to pick pinapples and learned to drive trucks.

Then, a year later, he came home and finished his High School diploma.

Then, his dad told him that if he went to college that he would pay for it, so David enrolled in a local community college. Sat in class for a week wondering why he wasn't making money. Decided that time really was money and he quit and went to go get a job.

He did go to truck driving school. And he takes classes to maintain his OTPC license.
