tree suckers

what does eveybody do about the suckers around the trunks of trees. do you just keep cutting them. is there a better option

Cutting them below ground helps some. I know there is products out there, but I've never tried them. I think one is called Sucker Stopper. Spring is usually the worst for suckering, keep on top of them and they slow down.
