Hello guys I have a question for my 1300 WACKER COMPACTOR!!!

MACHINE IS PASSING OIL TO THE SPARK PLUG THRU THE PISTON. (I've took it all apart).

When I took it apart, I pull the starter to get the piston moving and excesive oil started to appear all around the piston!!!

It is a HONDA ENGINE GX160

My question is:

-Should I buy the engine? It is around $300 - $400
-Piston itself is $25 - $45 (including rings)

Can the walls of the cylinder (where the piston moves up and down) get damaged??? If so, I'm assuming it would be better to buy the engine... right???

I really appreciate if someone can help me on this one!!!

Thanks and have a nice day!!!

Here is my question. Are you mechanically inclined ? If not, then have the shop rebuild it for you or get an new engine. There is alot more to rebuilding an engine, you will need to fine out if the cylinder is out of round, or if you can even use an over sized piston and rings. If you want to learn, it's a good engine to start with.
