How to get rid of bamboo

I have a customer that every year i have to go and cut down bamboo.I was wondering if i cut it down if i can spray or put something down on the roots to kill it completly.i have heard of round up field and brush killer.but never tried it.I was also going to mulch over it when i get done.
I also aint licensed but what should i do its just a small area.They dont want it coming back anymore.

I have made a 5% solution (Highest Lable Rate) with the 41% Roundup Pro
(6 Ounces to Gallon water) some years ago, and sprayed about 1-2 ounces "Into" each of the 4" high above soil line, CUT bamboo, and had success. Multiple apps every month, as listed above, until no new growth.

It is a Process, but it works, and easy on the enviornment.

Bamboo only sends up shoots one time per year in the late spring. Dig it up and pot it and sell it is one way. if you bomb the soil nothing will grow there for a couple of years. Cut it down and mow over it when you mow the grass will is the eaist way.

While that takes some time to totally control, mowing is the environmentally friendly way to control many undesirables. The science is simple, the plants reproductive energy is used up by so many starts. The more regular the mowing, the less chance of rebuilding that energy.

you are probably looking at jap knot weed not bamboo-

If there is no desirable vegetation with roots extending into the area of bamboo, 48 oz/acre of Arsenal Powerline does the job in one shot. This will also kill knotweed, if that is what is actually there. It is best to get a pro in to do this kind of job. I do have unlicensed gardeners and landscapers call me to do things that their illegally used store bought chemicals cannot do. It is a win-win for everyone. I am not taking their business. I do not mow or landscape. They do not have to do what they should not be doing. The client wins as well, because the lawn and landscape receive care from a specialist.
