I am looking to buy a diesel truck in order to expand business opportunities by hauling bigger equipment. I am not only limited to Ford, but the Chevy's cost to much (normally) and Dodge's have bad transmission in automatic.

Here is the specs I need, although for a good deal I might be able to alter them;

Diesel
Long Bed
4x4
XLT or Lariat (not a work truck)
Professional looking (i.e. no stacks, over sized mud tires, huge lifts, ect.)
Automatic transmission
Dependable (this throws out the 6.0 stroker)
Reasonable mileage (preferably under 150k)
Well taken care of (no large dings or scratches)
Semi-new - for F250's I want a 1999 or newer, other vehicles about the same
Reasonable distance from 45806 (I will drive a long way for the right truck though)

I am looking to pay up to $10,000 depending on the quality of the vehicle.

If you have something like what I want, please PM me with specs and pictures. Thank you.

- Josh

I think most people would snatch up an F250 7.3L with under 150k for $10k, good luck finding that!

I've found several on ebay, just not what I want exactly, or they are in Cali.

I have a '99 GMC Sierra 3-door X-cab that I was planning on selling in the next 2-3 weeks. It's a 1500, 4x4 Z-71, SLT, 145k, runs and looks very good. Pewter exterior, gray leather interior.
It has the 5.3 gas engine so may not be exactly what you're looking for but it is in nice condition and clean.

I might not be able to find what I am looking for exactly. That was just a rough list of what I want.

The diesels have really come down in price over the last year or so.

Check ebay item #110262201496. Nice truck and the market was only willing to pay $5500.

This is my ideal truck. ebay item #220245324081. I figured without being lariat and maybe a couple of years older this would have been $10k.

There was also a F250 like what I want on auto trader for $8,500 but it was in Cali. It sold last week.

To the guy with the 1500, sorry but I need at least a 3/4 ton.

if you want to haul bigger things, you might want to go to a f350 or a 450.i have a 2000 f250 extended cab diesel w/dump insert.there are a lot of times i wish it was heavier duty.to help out w/ payload, i installed air bags w/ onboard compressor.it helped a lot,but sometimes its not enough.around here my truck is worth somewhere around 15000.it has only got 75k on it .someone on here posted a 96ish f350 reg cab gas engine that looked mint.he wanted @ 9,000 and i think he will get pretty close to his asking price .good luck

FYI, there are 3 things that are different from a 250 to a 350. Badges, springs, and the door sticker with a weight rating. Thats it. I have airbags in the rear of 250 also and can tow/haul just like a 350. its the same truck.

I have just decided to go with the F250 because I need to pull a New Holand 4832 w/ bush hog and a bob cat.

Also I am considering doing fertilizing by filling the bed up and doing those while out mowing. Which would be quite a bit of weight with a full bed of granular and liquid + my mowing trailer loaded.

If I found a F350 or F450 I would consider it though.

That white truck on here looks nice, but it has a 460 which would really drink the fuel. Plus it would be really hard to sell if I needed a different truck or something.

Well maybe if I had 20 more accounts, charge 3x the price, and hated making a net profit I would buy it. :dancing:

I think he means the dually. But yes, that is pretty much the differences from SRW F350 and F250. The F350 has more taxes too.

Sorry, too many miles.

Thanks man... 170k miles is on the high side, but I will have to give them a call anyways. That looks like a nice truck.
