Our start off pics for this project. I think ViceNut starts this one in 3 weeks. New customer in this hood that we do 26 on Thursday. First thing will be to remove every thing including the 1000 yds of mulch that has accumilated from past owner. Grass will be Empire Zoyzia. Can't wait to see the before and after of this project:)

Wow, that's a good chunk of mulch - how long do you think that's gonna take your crew?

Post progress pics, I'd love to see 'em.

I love when ppl use 10" of mulch, and remulch every year. We had one like this, she was wondering why all her plants were dead.

When the mulch starts growing faster than the trees, you may have a problem.

I usually get 3-5 calls a year for jobs like that only on a smaller scale. Some people are absessed with mulch. I have a few neighboors who mulch their flower beds twice a year. Its just nuts.

ViceNut
06-29-2008, 01:01 PM
atouchofgrass, check the initial post. We are out on this job probably 2-3 weeks or so, then we'll get you some more pictures and see what you think then. We will probably have a day, maybe day and 1/2 ripping all this old crap out, including taking down the mulch beds. Then we'll go back with all new shrubs, lighting, and dyed mulch. Then will come the empire zoysia. Not too big of a project, but definitely one that will be a completely different house when we're done.

ATouchofGrass
06-29-2008, 01:36 PM
No i know.. That is what it looked like before, i was just saying how could people mulch like that? Or even yet keep there grass like that unless it was a foreclosed house.. You guys do great work, that doesnt even look like its been touched for about 2 years haha. Keep us updated! Pj550v12 im located in New Fairfield right next to Danbury. Im about 30 40 mins from you.

haha, my gym equals 18 holes of beautiful lush green grass with a titleist in my hand.

or a ski rope in my hand and a wakeboard or ski's underneath me. That actually gives me a better work-out, but I enjoy both of them. The bobcat is nice for sitting in the cool A/C listening to the radio. :cool2:

Chestnut Oaks Prez
07-23-2008, 05:18 PM
Nah, Economy crunch kicked in. He did call yesturday and say we could start Monday and give him what we could for his new budget. Maybe tear out, couple trees, some shrubs, and mulch. Then add sod, more shrubs, and lighting as he can. We can still make it a ton better with that than what it looks now. His hogepoge grass is green now but Zoyzia would be so much better. Should have next round of pics Monday:)

Chestnut Oaks Prez
07-30-2008, 09:11 PM
Started it today and it was a day full. Here's some pics and the only mishap was VN knocked a post off the front porch with a big ole Ligustrum:cry: Thank goodness it wasn't to bad. To close not to have a watchman. More tomorrow, after 4in1 bucket hose gets repaired. Lookin better already!:cool2:

Have you priced trees and shrubs that large, you just threw away several 1000 dollars. You could have healed them in and used them at other sites or given them to a church, unbelievable what a waste

All you had to do was put your forks into the ground and dig them up,

you guys have to be kidding me, there is no way we would take the time to save any of that crap. So overgrown, thats why its coming out. Even if we did, the extra time that it would take to try and save something like that would kill into the job. We wont even go into how dry it is here on top of that to try and transplant it.

BTW, lighting and prep tomorrow, then mulch and sod wednesday.
