If you ever get a chance demo a honda..I swore that i would only buy kawasaki's but man when they let me test it out I was amazed at how quiet teh engine is and how much torque it has, it cut through 8" grass like its not even there(I got a great deal on it to)...Also all scag hydros have the 10cc hydro pumps...

The one thing i dislike about the exmarks is that the paint fades so quickly because it is red paint. Scag should come out with a special edition with a black powder coated mower, orange wheels and different orange accents haha, sorry i had to say it! Random as heck, yes! I also didnt know they were all 10 cc's they deff look bigger than my other hydro i have. Could be an optical allusion.

Funny you ask, my buddy here owns the power equipment so i got it for $5500 instead of 7k. I really go a deal on it because it does have the 19hp kawi. O and buy the way i just cut this OVER grown lawn that was 5 feet high and the Pro-V went right through it all! I was going into this lawn thinking this is not gonna be able to go through it at all. Proved me WRONG. No bogging down what so ever. :clapping: I wish i go some pics but my camera card was full and i had taken some pictures of some stripes i did today, which you can look for later tonight in the "stripes" thread. But yes, it was one of the best purchases i have made in a long time! Im so happy im picking up another one in about 2 months.:cool2:

And seriously, Scags are ugly. Nothing against the mower, but the paint is revolting.

I said what we accomplished, end of story. And Scags are ugly? Exmark should clear-coat the mowers, fading after half a season...not what I would want out of a $6,000 machine. Purchased an Exmark 52" Turf Tracer to give it a whirl this year, sold it within 2 weeks. Too light, not as precise of a cut, and not quite quick enough. To each his own. Regardless, preference is in the eye of the beholder. Always a Scag fan here, had them for over 18 years.

Scag ornage and Stihl orange aren't the same...Stihl orange is the glossy bright kind, where Scag orange is the brownish rusty kind. The ZTRs look better than the w/bs for some reason. I have no idea.

eXmark actually isn't my favorite color, but a close second. I like the paint scheme on the Hustler's the best.

hey nice mower i am thinking of buying the same mower just in a 52" tho what did you pay and is this a good deal below

2004 Exmark Turf Tracer HP mower - $2450

Hydro walk behind mower in good condition. Electric start. It has a 17hp engine and a 52" deck. I will throw in some extra blades. Asking $2450. Will also consider trade or partial trade of motor scooter or a side discharge deck for a Walker mower. or maybe you have something to trade that I don't even know I need yet. Just ask me.

The V-Bar is what you use to steer it.

ATouchofGrass
07-14-2008, 10:40 AM
Go to the Scag website they have it automated, so you can see how you manuver it. It is so easy to use and by the end of the day you can still work without feeling the pain of a normal walkbehind.

Do you think the Pro-V does as well on hills as a wb w/ pistol grips? Could you manhandle it like you can a pistol grip?

ATouchofGrass

Thats the only down side to this mower, pistol grips you have much more control than only having the control of the "V bar".

regarding pro-v's on the hills, you can use the top rigid handle if you need to really yank on this thing. its actually pretty good on hills one you get the hang of it, you have to do everything in one fluid motion which is really easy given the instant everything controls. and you can use it one handed so stand at the top of the hill next to the machine and walk along it if you want.

The Pro-V is by far the best Commercial Walk Behind unit out there right now! Why dont more people get em?

I didn't realize it, but since looking at it on the website it looks even easier to control than the Exmark's that I demo'd. I have a 36 inch Scag wb; all I've ever had besides 21 inches and this is my 2nd year. I love the way my scag will cut through 2-3 foot high stuff without much bogging down and on the
2nd pass it's history ( except the clippings of course). But on stuff like 6 inch to 10 inch, it's one pass.

My question is, how do u like this as opposed to your other Scag with pistol grips? Is it much less vibrations and hand fatigue? I'd really like to keep scag as my main mower on my next purchase. Orange is my color lately anyway :) But this Pro-V system is awful new right? Is the warranty as good on this as any other? Does it feel tough and durable like all other scags? How does it handle on hills or in tight turn around spots?
